USPS Mail Box Logo Musing
It's not the most glamorous topic to blog about, but a recent outing has made me realize that the USPS logo on the ubiquitous mailboxes is a well thought out logo. The logo itself is slanted to show that the mail is always in motion, always in progress to get to the mail recipients. The eagle is a symbol on two folds. It acts as a majestic symbol of America, and it conjures up feelings of fast moving. Wouldn't you trust your mail with an American eagle out of all the bird species? The only colors on the mail box are red, white, and blue. The "A"s in the "UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE" are characterized as arrows to show that the packages are heading in the right direction. The logo does a good job of inspiring feelings of speed through its use of the eagle and slanting position of the eagle.
Would you use USPS based on its logo? YES. The logo makes me feel patriotic when I'm sending mail via USPS. Also, I feel safe sending my important packages through USPS.
